Homes supplied by lake water tend to have moderately hard water, while most of Illinois relies on groundwater that runs hard to very hard. Clay soil shifts as it wets and dries, which can crack older sewer laterals and let tree roots find their way inside. Proper shower installation in Des Plaines, IL helps prevent leaks that can lead to foundation and structural issues.

We install Moen, Delta, Kohler, Grohe, Hansgrohe and Brizo valves. We recommend pressure-balance or thermostatic valves for scald protection.
Pressure-balance valves keep the hot and cold ratio steady when pressure changes. Thermostatic valves control the actual temperature and allow separate volume control, which works well for multi-head showers.
New showers, tub-to-shower conversions and drain relocations often require a permit. Requirements vary by city, and we check and handle permits when needed.
Shower plumbing is hidden in walls and floors, so mistakes lead to expensive leaks. We recommend a licensed plumber, especially when permits and inspections are involved.
Signs your old shower needs replacement include persistent leaks that damage walls or floors, extensive mold or mildew that returns despite cleaning, severe cracks in the shower pan or enclosure, or outdated plumbing that constantly fails. If repairs are becoming frequent and costly, replacement is often the more economical long-term solution. A long heating season keeps boilers and water heaters running hard, and humid summers can cause sweating pipes and damp basements.
